The IFE has now achieved recognition by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator UK (Ofqual) as the only approved Awarding Body dedicated to the fire sector.

Programme Description
This part-time programme has been developed by DIT in collaboration with the Institution of Fire Engineers (Republic of Ireland branch) and is an ordinary degree programme in Fire Engineering (NQAI level 7) which is aimed at members of the fire services and the fire safety/engineering sector in general

The Institution of Fire Engineers Republic of Ireland Branch have arrange with Dublin Institute of Technology, Bolton Street for them to offer a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BEngTech), Level 7 Ordinary Degree, in fire engineering on a modular, part time basis (four yearly stages) in the next collegiate year.
A level 6 higher certificate exit award will be available to students who successfully complete the first three stages of the programme.

It is expected that graduates of this programme will have the opportunity to progress onto suitable honors degree programme.
